Metabolic Networks

metabolic_net

Metabolic networks are excellent tools for exploring biochemical interconnections in the expression of genotype to phenotype in the cell. Since the biochemical processes in the cell are the result or cause of many abnormalities, metabolic networks are illuminating in many different diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular or neural diseases, as well as metabolic diseases like diabetes or obesity.

We are currently working on various topics such as constructing metabolic networks based on the transcriptomic data and metabolic pathways of different diseases, revealing disease-specific gene-metabolism associations, identifying missing genes in metabolic pathways, developing new algorithms for metabolic networks, identifying key genes or metabolites specific to diseases.
